Technical information about this website’s accessibility
Creative Ireland is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018. This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.
Non accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
Non compliance with the accessibility regulations
- For input type=password elements, we cannot set the autocomplete attribute to new-password or current-password in order to identify input purpose. This does not meet WCAG 2.1 AA 1.4.3. This element is output from the CMS platform used and cannot be currently amended.
- A form control has a blank label on the Events landing page. This does not meet WCAG 2.1 A F68. This element is output from the CMS platform plugin used and cannot be currently amended.
- Each a element does not contain text or an img with an alt attribute. This does not meet WCAG 2.1 A F89. We are working through our editable content to ensure all WYSIWYG content has anchors with text and/or an image with an alt attribute.
- A few pages have empty heading tags. This does not meet WCAG 2.1 AA G130. We are working through our editable content to ensure all WYSIWYG content has headings with text content and/or an image with an alt attribute.
Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations
- PDFs and other documents - Some of our older PDFs and Word documents do not meet accessibility standards - for example, they may not be structured so they’re accessible to a screen reader. This does not meet WCAG 2.1 success criterion 4.1.2 (name, role value). The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they’re not essential to providing our services. Any new PDFs or Word documents we publish will meet accessibility standards.
- Embedded video - Some embedded videos may not have captions. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.2.2 (captions - pre-recorded). We do not plan to add captions to 3rd party videos.
