This Carlow artist's studio takes inspiration from the town’s industrial past.
Inspired by Carlow’s most prominent past industry, artist Victoria Callinan founded The Sugar Factory Studios – a vibrant artist-in-residence space.
After living in Dubai, Victoria returned home to Ireland to begin this project and collaborate with other talented artists. Made possible through Carlow County Council’s five-year Culture and Creativity Strategy, the studio draws on the town’s inherent resourcefulness and can-do approach – “I wanted to tap into that spirit that’s alive in our town.”
