Fingal

The vision for Creative Ireland Fingal is that creativity, culture, and the arts will be accessible to and valued by everyone. Our Culture and Creativity Strategy 2023 – 2027 supports the delivery of objectives in relation to well-being, social cohesion and inclusion, heritage, arts, culture, tourism, and economic development. The strategy is underpinned by our core values including democratic and civic leadership, a focus on engaging and inspiring our citizens, inclusion, valuing people and encouraging their development, and sustainability.

The Fingal County Council Culture and Creativity Team have identified specific areas of focus that have the most potential for long-term impact in Fingal. This will facilitate and consolidate efforts to embed creativity across the work of the Council and align with the vision, principles, and values of Creative Communities - Broadening access to, and participation in, cultural and creative activities locally.
Creative Ireland Fingal will build on successful implementation to date and continue to support access and participation for all our citizens by providing space for culture and creativity, continuing to support artists and creative practitioners, and building capacity for connecting artists and creative practitioners to communities.

The Fingal County Council Culture and Creativity Team have outlined the following strategic priorities in our five-year Culture and Creativity Strategy:
• Changing population and demographics – responding to the demographic profile of the county to reflect the core values of Creative Communities.
• Making cities/counties great places to live, work, visit and invest in - Placemaking and town centre first – investing in culture and creativity can support environmental, social, and economic returns that help deliver regional and local plans.
• Climate Action – ensuring that creativity and culture are used to support the delivery of one of the four main target areas of the Fingal County Council Climate Action Plan 2019 – 2024 by actively engaging and informing citizens on climate change.
• Digitalisation and Ongoing Transformation – supporting the delivery of the Digital Community Pillar of the Fingal Digital Strategy 2020 – 2023.
• To devise and implement the Fingal Commemorations Programme 2018-2023.
