A Youth Committee will be set up in Ballaghaderreen, working with the children and young people who are involved in the Emergency Reception Orientation Centre (EROC), with schools and Foróige groups with which the artist-researchers have already been involved through Creative Places Ballaghaderreen. 

Consultation on what creative projects and learnings young people would like to be involved in would drive this project with a view to a final presentation or event that would take place on Cruinniú na nÓg day 2025, with support from the artists involved in Creative Places Ballaghaderreen. 

The Creative Places R& D Programme has been active in Ballaghaderreen since Oct 2023, led by Mary Smyth, Roscommon Arts Office Public Art & Engagement Coordinator. Mary, with the assistance of GRETB, Foróige and the steering group of local representatives will establish a Youth Committee. The Youth Committee, with the three artist-researchers, will plan for Young Voices Ballaghaderreen, a local youth arts programme with an assigned budget. 

Children and young people in the area will be consulted on their creative ideas and how they would like to explore them. Their interests and creative aspirations will be brought to life by organising workshops with artists and creative practitioners with expertise in the desired areas.
