Writing a Novel - The First Draft with David Butler

Writing a Novel - The First Draft with David Butler
Course Summary:
In this four-week course, facilitator David Butler will help you to workshop your novel-in-progress by examining areas such as point-of-view, structure, effective openings, dialogue etc., in order to help you create a page-turning work of fiction.

To begin, participants will look in detail at great examples from literature, focusing on such key areas as structure, openings, character, dialogue, point of view etc. Short homework exercises will be set to develop and hone each of these skill sets. For weeks three and four participants will also be asked to submit a short extract from their own works in progress. These will be examined in detail by the entire group, with constructive feedback being offered.

Course Details: Course will take place in person in Kildare Town Library.

Dates: Wednesday 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th of June from 2-4pm
