The Wildsong Ensemble is an experimental choir, focused on singing and vocal improvisation. It nurtures an on-going, process-based community arts practice through singing, discussion and public engagement. The ensemble is ethnically diverse, ranging in age from 30-65. It is a safe space to gather, perform and create, freeing the voice and encouraging collaboration by mixing cultural tonalities.

Formed in 2022 the choir has developed and performed a number of new compositions. The choir now proposes to move away from the performance of fixed compositions and instead share its improvisatory practice. Working with musician Laura Hyland to frame and present its inventive practice in a public-facing way, the performances will be held at the Late Night Art events at Wexford Arts Centre in October and November 2024.
