Kildare County Council Library and Arts Service have a long term relationship with the Department of English, Maynooth University, which includes supporting a Writers in Residence programme. Ryan Dennis was a Writer in Residence in 2021/22. As part of this role, he embarked on a collaborative endeavour, working with 37 farmers from across the country. This culminated in a substantial publication, Voices from the Land, which was launched at Maynooth University earlier this year.  

Through additional support secured through Kildare’s Creative Kildare programme, additional copies of Voices from the Land were produced to ensure that the writings reached a wider audience.

Ryan will attend the National Ploughing Championships, with Kildare’s Creative Ireland coordinator Lucina Russell to speak about the project.  Copies of Voices from the Land will be available.
