Timeless Tipperary, fragments from the past.
An Exhibition of Creative Fine Art landscape photography in black & white and colour along with oral stories collected from the past to the present will be exhibited at various venues across County Tipperary this year. The photographs are digital images taken with different cameras and lenses, and the prints are C-type wet prints produced here in Ireland.
All the images are from around Tipperary captured by Hugh O'Donnell in the past few years and presented as framed images accompanied by related oral stories. The purpose of this exhibition is serve as a reminder of the stunning Tipperary landscape and to rekindle memories of the people who lived here and shaped our communities and land.
The oral stories collected and included are from our history, myths and legends, and our folklore traditions shared by word of mouth. More recent stories from local people are also included in the exhibition with the intention of continuing this tradition in County Tipperary.
The audience will have an opportunity to read about places they may be familiar with and those not so familiar and to enjoy imagery throughout the various seasons.
The exhibition will be available to view at Cashel Library, Nenagh Library, Bru Ború Cultural Centre, Clonmel University Hospital, St Anthony’s residential home, Clonmel, Carrick on Suir Library, Excel Heritage Centre Tipperary Town and Spearmans Tea Room Cashel.
