THE PROJECT

Author, playwright, filmmaker, and creative writing tutor, Laurence McKeown, will conduct a series of 6 workshops with young people at Dee Hub to produce a body of work consisting of film footage from the participants. Laurence will be accompanied by cameraman and film producer, Martin Keenan, at 3 of those workshops. Martin will teach the participants skills in the use of a range of cameras and how to use their phone/camera to get the best results.

THE THEMES

The themes explored in the workshops will be; ‘How do young people see the world they occupy, what is important to them, and what are the issues and challenges they face’.

THE OUTPUTS

Each participant will compile a short film and Laurence and Martin will edit these into a collective film. Some additional footage may be taken, such as a short input from the youth workers at Dee Hub and/or from the participants themselves. The film will be put online on Laurence’s channel on YouTube and be available to both the participants and the public.
