Theatre Development - 'Finding Love in an Abattoir'
Theatre Development by Speckintime Theatre Company
Development of a new play set in an Irish abattoir – Finding Love in an Abattoir - explores ideas with a multidisciplinary creative team before and during the writing process.
Set in the secretive and divisive world of an Irish abattoir the action of the play revolves around two characters: Ivo, a Latvian settled in Ireland, and Oona, an Irish woman local to the rural abattoir. Both are struggling to find their way in life, together they help each other discover a pathway toward a place where hope and treachery await in equal measure.
Supported by The Arts Council, Creative Ireland, Kildare County Council, UNESCO Dublin City of Literature, Riverbank Arts Centre and Latvian Embassy in Ireland.
