The Write Time Festival

Fingal Libraries celebrates creative writing with the annual Write Time Festival, now in its 8th year. Free workshops and author talks will take place in Fingal Libraries throughout the month of September. The programme is packed with a range of events to inspire you to write - meet published, working authors, discover the craft of writing short stories and explore your options for getting published. Workshops range from using art as inspiration, to beginning your novel, crafting memoir, submitting your writing to magazines and publications, and taking your idea from the abstract to a crafted piece of writing. In the ‘Words with Writers’ series, six amazing writers will share their creative writing process and their journey to publication. Most of the events will take place in your local Fingal library, with some taking place online via zoom. Writers taking part in this year’s festival include Sam Blake, Jane Buckley, Kevin Curran, Damien B. Donnelly, Derek Flynn, Maria Hoey, Pam Lecky, Felicia McCarthy, Joanne McCarthy, Kevin McCarthy, Karl MacDermott, Peig McManus, Fiona O’Rourke, Paddy Osborne and Yvonne Reddin. The Festival Curator is Anne McDonald. To reserve a place at any Write Time workshop or event, please contact the library hosting the event. The online workshops can be booked via Eventbrite. For full details of workshops, events and how to book a place, please see the Write Time brochure.
