The Mary Lowndes Stained Glass Conservation Project
This is a community led initiative by the Church of Ireland commemorative committee in Shinrone.
During their work researching the 200 year's of the parish and associated churches, records of windows from the now roofless Ettagh church emerged of stained glass windows that were removed to another parish church - all bar one - by the famous Mary Lowdes stained glass artist - which was a smaller size and not easy to accommodate. During Lockdown this window was tracked down, conservators called in, research done and this has culminated in this project to display the window in Shinrone Church of Ireland for public display and to let people view it once more.
