Inspired by the first edition of the Cavan’s county paper, the Anglo-Celt, and written by local playwright Tara Maria Lovett, ‘The Half Coat’ tells the interconnected stories of different generations of one family, united together by the seminal half coat of the title.

The half coat, though an inanimate object, sees the stories, secrets and repercussions that impact one family through this generational piece of storytelling. The story begins in 1846, with a condemned man awaiting his fate, and takes the audience through to modern times as we see how the lives of his descendants still connect with his tale.
