The Basics of Woodturning
Carrick On Shannon Men's Shed are working with master wood worker Niall Miller to learn the Basics of woodturning.
The Carrick on Shannon men's shed aims to work towards a future where all men have the opportunity to improve and maintain their health and well-being by participating in a community Men’s Shed.
The group will take part in a step by step process of woodturning each week over a ten week period starting with the humble honey spoon and working their way up to a large hand spun bowl.
Niall will guide the members through every aspect from sourcing your materials, health and safety, maintenance of the tools and then the skills and knowledge to create their very own hand spun piece.
This project marks the groups return to working physically together in their space.
