Teas, Chats & Tunes Louth

Project Background

Tea, Chats & Tunes is a programme where professionally trained musicians with Music & Health Ireland work to connect live music-making opportunities to residents and healthcare staff in Nursing Homes and Community Hospitals. Music & Health Ireland’s approach is driven by equity of experience for all and a shared social experience.

Tea, Chats & Tunes provides a music-sharing experience that puts the residents’ interests and choices at the heart of music-making by connecting closely with the setting before each visit and facilitating the residents to curate each visit through a 2-way responsive engagement.

Project Participants -

The professional musicians involved in the programme are very experienced in working across acute healthcare settings at the bedside, in hospice at the end of life and in Dementia Care settings nationally, bringing a skillset and approach to support resident's access to live music interactions, no matter how small. Through a series of workshops the musicians with Music & Health Ireland will work closely with the 3 designated nursing homes and their staff on developing their skills to use music to enhance the well being of residents.

The nursing homes taking part in the initiative are Curam Care Homes in Dundalk, Moorehall Lodge in Ardee and Moorehall Lodge in Drogheda.
