The folklore project ‘Stories to Remember’ is being run in the primary schools in Ballymahon Municipal District. It is based on the 1937-38 National Schools’ Folklore Project and the National Folklore Collection, UCD, is a partner in the project. It will receive copies of all material submitted. So far, seven schools are involved and the facilitator, Chris Thompson, has visited most of them. We will have an online information session in late October, aimed at the eight schools in the MD that are not currently involved. We hope to extend the project to the Longford and Granard MDs in the coming year.
