A behind the scenes film documenting the creation of an immersive Art Installation 'Brigid's Cloak' with artist Claire Hurley - Visual Artist and an accompanying ‘Soundbath’ by Composer Gary Keane.
The Installation was created through four intergenerational workshops with TY students and senior citizens from Bandon Day Care Centre.
The installation is an artists impression of the mythical Brigid Cloak, Ireland’s female Patron Saint, created using the Cyanotype printing method, sun printing invented in
1842. The piece has been created using mainly recycled and organic materials, cotton, willow, aluminium and tea bag paper. Part of the installation is created using
willow, to shape a structure for the interior of the cloak. The piece is finished with one of Claire Hurley’s signature headpieces made from natural material.
