SOLAS NUA

This project came about after a community meeting that discussed loneliness being a problem for some young and old community members in the Tubbercurry/South Sligo area and how people in the past got through tough winters by coming together in a creative space. Local Film-Maker Peter Martin will assisst with Cinematography and photography and Margaret Kilcoyne a locally based poet and director will direct and Lighting designer and producer Niall Flynn will assist with lighting the film. Light is a major focus in this film obviously and our goal is to combine the film with a series of light projections of the imagery that we have collated from the short documentray on buildings and places of interest in Tubbercurry using colour, light and projection mapping to illustrate what we have created. With excerpts and footage that we have created with the wider community, we can use projection mapping along with using members  written excerpts of the poetry created along with photographic imagery to tell the story that we have created using buildings in Tubbercurryto show the wider projection scale. Projection mapping- is the most widely focoused way to use projected lighting. This involves lighting up an area, internally or externally, using projected lighting. This can make use of different colour combinations, and different patterns and cutouts to achieve a myriad of stylish, engaging effects.
