The Sligo Artist Network was set up in 2019 through Creative Ireland (Sligo) funding.  The Sligo Artist Network is a network/ group made up of a range of creatives from Co Sligo/ North West. Visual artist and Arts Participation/CPD Programme Co- ordinator /Administer Catherine Fanning oversees the network management and co- ordination. 
Catherine links with organisations to share opportunities and assists creatives to work together, to support, mentor each other and promote creative communities in Sligo. 
During 2024 the Network continued to support Sligo creatives through the Network Facebook Group with the sharing of news, events and opportunities about, with and for Artists, Creatives, Arts & Cultural Organisations and Venues.   The Network also supported and assisted the networking art practice of creatives by organising a ‘Creative Open Call’ in early summer 2024. 
Creatives were invited to visit the Sligo Local Studies and Archives library for a creative exploration of their historical source material.
