SiarScéal is an annual community based literary festival held in Roscommon Library. On Day 1 young people under 18s will work on the theme Climate Change and Me. Day 2 is open to all. This festival is a collaboration with Sligo and Leitrim County Councils.
The festival has run every year since 2007 and takes place in Roscommon, in the heart of the Irish midlands, drawing inspiration from unique culture and heritage of the locality.
The Hanna Greally International Literary Awards (which include the Ger Hanily Memorial Cup) are held annually in conjunction with the festival. The awards are presented across categories that include local, national, international and include poetry and prose. Entries are received from all over the world, with prizes awarded in each of the categories.
