Samhain Lights is a series of willow lantern making workshops that culminate with a parade of light into Glenbower Wood. According to Celtic tradition, Samhain, which marks the transition to the darker half of the year, is the time when the boundary between our world and the next grows thin. Artist Caoimhe Dunn will facilitate 3 Willow Lantern making workshops for all ages on the October bank holiday. The completed lanterns will be carried in a costume-clad, celebratory procession into Glenbower Wood at Dusk. Accompanied by the sounds of a spooky samba band, participants will discover an enchanted gateway to the otherworld, leading back to Greywood Arts for hot chocolate and seasonal treats.

Two local creatives will also develop Giant Lantern Making techniques under Caoimhe’s guidance in order to build this skillset in our community.
