Rush Bygone Days - A Publication
This delightful book is a treasure trove of personal stories from 29 Rush residents and
visitors aging between 60-103 yrs. It tells tales of boating adventures to Lambay Island,
working with the gentry in Kenure House and Summer days spent playing on Rush’s
beautiful sandy beaches. Remembering a time when the town had a cinema, a forge, an
array of sweet shops and even a ballroom where Johnny Cash once played. The book
covers the rich history of Rush through the eyes of the people who have farmed the land,
fished the sea, explored sunken ship wrecks, found love and raised their families in this
charming coastal town of Rush. The book is available in Rush Library and also on
BorrowBox, copies have been distributed to Nursing Homes and all the schools in the
area.
