Roscommon Creative Brain Event
Supported under the Open Call Strand 1: Community/Creative Collaboration, King House Boyle will play host to the Roscommon Older People's Network as they deliver an event aiming to to create awareness and importance of arts and creativity in brain health including dementia to people, families, services and general public of County Roscommon.
Experts in the field of creative brain health to demonstrate research and hold experiential activities/workshops to showcase and encourage participation in expressive arts in institutions and general public. This will also show the role of creativity in cognitive stimulation and social engagement. The event provides a platform to explore learn experience how creativity can be a cognitive tool for longevity, good brain health and general wellbeing.
The day will include a morning of guest speakers on dementia and research supporting the benefits of creative activities on brain health. Social connecting / networking followed by and afternoon session of a variety of experiential Creative Activity workshops, in areas such music, Eco therapy, Storytelling, Art & Art appreciation, Reminiscence, dance, traditions, Memory café
