Riverside Rhythms

The Riverside Rhythms mural just yards from the river at the corner of Water Street & the Lower Glanmire Road, will be an abstract of rowers, representing the Lower Glanmire Road Residents’ long association with the river as a place of recreation & employment. Past generations from the road swam and rowed here; the river was their playground.

Artist Laurynas Damijonaitis, who lives locally, will create an abstract two-dimensional image of rowers in motion, capturing the flow and rhythm of the river. The phrase "Find Flow," which speaks to the importance of living in the moment, letting go of stress, and embracing the natural flow of life, will be painted in bold and three-dimensional lettering, with a contemporary design that emphasizes the dynamic energy of rowing. The artist has developed the design for the mural in consultation with the local residents, who will also help him in its creation.

The goal of the Riverside Rhythms mural is to inspire a sense of connection with the river and promote a state of mindfulness and serenity through rowing and physical activities. It will serve as a symbol of the community's love for the river and the positive impact that rowing can have on physical and mental well-being. Ultimately, the mural is a reminder to find your own flow and live your life to the fullest.
