Members of the Traveller community will work with the Ballinasloe Fair organisers to promote Traveller culture and heritage on Sunday the 29th of September. 

This event will be a showcase ofTraveller musical and traditional skills on the day with the view to embedding Traveller culture in the heart of the fair. The stage will be set up from 11.00 – 1.00 with a display and demonstration of Traveller traditional skills , tinsmithing , flower maker and beady pocket making. 

From 2.00 to 5.00 there will be a showcase of Traveller musical talent with Kathleen Keenan , Rosie McCarthy,  PJ Mongan ,Francis Ward and Winnie Stokes . 

The Barrell top wagon will return to the fair! Galway Traveller Movement will hire the traditional wagon and have a local artist paint horseshoes on the day 

In the Showtime Media truck  and there will be a selection of short films about the Traveller community. 

There will also be an Exhibition of work made by young people in collaboration with the Ballinasloe Traveller Women’s Group.
