Over the Christmas Season, an ice-rink has been proposed for Queen Maeve Square, and the hope is that there will be an array of festive activities surrounding the ice-rink to appeal to both the local community and tourists, though out the Christmas season. 

It is hoped that local craft groups, such as creatives based in MADE in Sligo, could be supported to take part in the Christmas Market, and commission creative work, to bring to the Christmas markets.

Street performers will also be commissioned to enhance festivities around Queen Maeve Square, in the weeks leading up to Christmas, which should add to the excitement and attract people into the town centre.
