An intimate immersive experience taking place in the hidden spaces of The Moat Theatre — Shakespeare’s Hamlet intersects with the fabric of the building, the history of the Moat Club and its members and the echoes of many rehearsals past. As they mark their 70th Anniversary, follow the trail of generations of actors from the Club and hear their memories of how the building brought them together.

PLAY is returning after its sold-out run in Culture Night 2023 and following the success of This House is Elsinore at Culture Night 2022.  It is presented as part of Heritage Week 2024 and supported by Creative Ireland Kildare and the Kildare Arts Service. PLAY has been further developed as part of the Darn Skippy Ensemble Experiment.
