The Choir will perform the Cherubini Requiem in C Minor. This was composed by Cherubini in 1816 to commemorate the death of King Louis XVI twenty four years earlier. The Abbé Edgeworth from Edgeworthstown was chaplain to Louis. There will be an exhibition in Paris in 2025 to commemorate the Abbé and the choir may perform this work there. 

The concert will be held in St Mel’s Cathedral, Longford. The target audience will be composed of music lovers from the midlands of Ireland. Longford County Choir has provided choral music in Longford for many years. We are a SATB choir and are the only secular choir of this type in County Longford.
