Peatlands 2023 Immersive Exhibition
The Peatlands is an immersive site-specific, site-responsive installation, using projection mapping in unconventional public spaces, for the purpose of engaging the public in conserving the biodiversity that exists in Ireland’s peatlands and wetlands. It is a multi-media project, narrated through the voice of the natural and built worlds.
Our project manipulates light and space to bring innovative, experimental and collaborative work with the audience. The work is guided by shared concerns with the fragile status of our natural heritage in the face of environmental crisis. A main objective of the work is to raise awareness through public engagement and garner concern from the community for the treasures that are the wetlands and peatlands of Ireland.
From Mid-September until October 2023, join us for an Immersive Experience in the Copper Tree Gallery at Birr Castle Demesne which will feature an exhibition from artists including Birr native Tina Claffey.
Admission to the Experience will be FREE, however general admission rates apply to those wishing to visit the gardens of Birr Castle.
