This community project will work with 10 young people from Cox’s Demesne and surrounding areas to create a piece of art within the community centre. Working with the artist and designer Ominous Omin the final piece will be a wall mural that will be viewed by every participant that uses the Redeemer Family Resource Centre. It will be located in a prominent part of the building, adding life and vibrancy that is much needed and will be a part of the upgrade works taking place. 

The overall projected will include workshops in the lead up to the painting which will be a full day session. These sessions will focus on giving young people from the community the opportunity for the first time to try creative spray painting and mural painting with the artist. These sessions will also help to formulate the idea and design. . 

The project will be a part of the young people’s involvement with the “Dear Future Me” project which has been taking place in collaboration with Dundalk Youth Centre. The preparation sessions will also take place and in collaboration with The House Youth and Community Project.

As this project is taking place on a community setting, a space used across many varied groups, we also will work with other community groups and collaborate on ideas for the design. These groups include the Age Action Friendly women’s groups, the Extern young people and the CREATE Local Training Iniative
