One Tribe Arts Ability Project
The two main themes for the operation of One Tribe in 2021 will be transition and blend. While 2020 saw the project forced to react to circumstances and adapt the programme quite quickly to digital delivery, 2021 will transition the project back towards in-person activity, connections and gatherings. We will do this through a blended approach with some online and digital delivery and some in-person delivery.
The content of One Tribe 2021 will have four layers – online delivery of art, drama and dance workshops; in-person delivery of art, drama and dance workshops; the completion of the One Tribe documentary charting the five-year progress of this Creative Ireland funded project; and the presentation (in-person and digitally) of the resulting performance work, art exhibition and documentary in a hybrid live broadcast event at the Dean Crowe Theatre supported by Athlone Community Radio and Depict Media.
In April and May, participants will take part in online workshops in drama, dance and art. These workshops will work towards a performance and exhibition in Autumn 2021. In August, September and October, participants will return to in-person preparations for a live event at the Dean Crowe Theatre & Arts Centre. This event (to be held in mid-October) will be a celebration of all One Tribe activity over the last five years and will include some live performances by the participants, an art exhibition of the participants’ work in the AIB Gallery at the Dean Crowe.
