The initial trail was a Maritime-themed Mystery designed for Louth Cruinniú na nÓg 2024. The trail was hugely successful, and both children and parents expressed interest in being able to engage with similar tours again.  Primary school teachers expressed intersted in the tours as they may encourage their pupils to engage with important services like the museums and libraries across county Louth. 

Engagement with staff of the tourist office located, Heritage officer etc believe that having longer-term themed projects developed in Dundalk and other locations across the County would give tourists a fantastic opportunity to engage in a family friendly activity while also learning about local sites of interest.  

The trail from Dundalk will be furhter developed into a digital experience using QR codes and a website so that a more sustainable format is used for the trails.  It is hoped that we can then develop trails across the county in Ardee, Drogheda and Carlingford that incorporate heritage, culture and fun for participants.
