Artist Lisa Murphy will work with Ardkeen Library and its customers to create a bespoke mural for the children's area of the library. This space is regularly used by babies, toddlers and primary school aged children. This area of the library is used for events such as Cruinniú na nÓg, Children's Book Festival, Ireland Reads, Spring into Storytime, Seachtain na Gaeilge and many more.

The area is in the front of the library facing a glass wall in the middle of a busy shopping centre. There will be high footfall from the community and visitors, and we hope that the mural will encourage passersby to come into the library and learn about all the services it offers. Particularly, we want the mural to be attractive to children - encouraging them to join the library and feel a sense of ownership over the space.
