Muine Bheag Arts CLG presents "Grass Roots Festival". Our aim is to facilitate collaborations and provide greater opportunities for participation in cultural activities in the Muine Bheag area. By offering an exhibition programme of public artworks and associated events during the "Grass Roots Festival", people will have access to new exciting ideas and research and have the chance to learn skills and develop new interests.
Grass Roots aims to provide opportunities for the local community to participate in cultural activities. The programme of public artworks, performances and events are free of
charge. As an organisation, Muine Bheag Arts believes that art can be used as a tool to enrich our daily lives. Events are hosted in public and local spaces in order to be
accessible and welcoming. Grass Roots uses local infrastructure and resources, engages with community groups including Bagenalstown Swimming Club and reactivates under-used facilities such as the Community Centre. It attracts audiences from further afield which sees benefits for local businesses such as shops, pubs, restaurants and hotels. This project helps to highlight the town and promote Co. Carlow as a cultural hub.
