Monaghan Murals Project
Monaghan Murals was initiated by Creative Monaghan to develop a series of international quality street murals throughout the towns of County Monaghan. It forms part of a wider strategy to support creativity in the community and promote pride of place.
These murals will reflect various aspects of the history, heritage and folklore of the county. The project will also feature a community engagement element where the artists will interact with the community and use the murals as a catalyst for discussion and exploration of our county’s incredible historical richness and cultural diversity. In doing so we intend to inspire people in our local community to explore their own creativity and expression.
The team will work with Municipal District Coordinators, Town & Regeneration Teams and other community groups in collaborating effectively on the project. Mural projects in development for 2022 will be in Ballybay (MASER), Carrickmacross (OMIN) and Inniskeen/Monaghan Town (James Earley & OMIN).
More information will be available on the Creative Monaghan social media platforms and Monaghan County Council website as murals are finished.
