Lough Ree Stories will create a series of 4 engaging social media videos that will explore the rich history, culture, and stories surrounding Lough Ree. Located in the heart of Ireland and shared by the counties of Westmeath, Roscommon, and Longford, Lough Ree is a mystical and captivating place that deserves to be celebrated and shared with a wider audience.

We want to look into the diverse history from the coming of people up the Shannon following evidence of the archaeology, castles, names etc., the boat building craft -building boats unique to the lake, and finally memories of life on the islands from people who were there, or families stories of life in the past.

The work will chat to experts about the area, locals and interesting people from around the lake, we are looking for their memories as well as their feelings about the place and its importance to their lives. 

The production will be put together by Bailey and Blake Productions who have been making videos of Irish history, archaeology and cultural heritage for Heritage in many counties for the past decade.
