Longford Senior Art Group comprises people over 55 years of age. The aim of the group is to promote wellbeing  through art and to share the joy that each group member gets from expressing themselves through their paintings.

Members will learn about acrylic and water colours starting with colour theory, how to mix paints, colour washes, pictorial composition, where to start with a scene and many techniques.

The group are very supportive of each other and enjoy visiting exhibitions in local galleries. They also have plans to visit the National Art Gallery in Dublin. They enjoy learning about critiquing different mediums, techniques and styles of painting. They plan to work towards an annual exhibition with a second series of workshops taking place from September onwards.
