"Lá Mór na Gaeilge" is a dynamic, day-long cultural festival held annually in Tourmakeady since 2021.  Designed to celebrate and promote Irish culture, it welcomes around 400 children of all ages.  The event is a series of activities: face-painting, puppet shows, arts and crafts workshops.

Highlights include performances by an Irish dancing school and live Irish music, showcasing local talent. The festival also serves as a platform for transition year students to exhibit and sell their creative projects.  Inclusivity is key; everyone is invited to explore and engage in these creative endeavours.  Last year's event received coverage from TG4, reflecting its growing significance in the community. This festival is not just an event; it's a vibrant expression of community spirit, creativity and Irish heritage.
