Ignite Creativity: Mosaic Art Journey with Women in Recovery
This innovative arts project in East Cork supports women in recovery from alcohol and substance misuse by providing creative outlets for self-expression, confidence-building, and personal growth. In alignment with Creative Ireland’s priorities and Cork County Council’s Culture and Creativity Strategy, this project engages participants through workshops in art, poetry, and nature. Around 15-20 women will take part, guided by 2-4 professional artists.
Workshops will be held at Coolmine’s facilities, with visits to local art galleries and outdoor settings in East Cork. The project’s goal is to create a mosaic representing the resilience and recovery of the women involved, with the final artwork installed in a public space in the community.
The project promotes personal healing, fosters a sense of belonging, and strengthens community connections. It also contributes to East Cork’s cultural identity, engaging local artists and stakeholders. The final mosaic will serve as a lasting symbol of recovery, showcasing the transformative power of creativity in personal and community wellbeing.
