The Artist Celina Muldoon will collaborate with the community of Kiltyclogher around themes of identity and a sense of place to create a live art event to be performed during Leitrim Cycling Festival on Sunday the 21st of June 2020. The festival celebrates cycling culture with an emphasis on eco tourism, slow travel and sustainability.
Children will engage with experts in history, folklore and cycling, to learn about their local area by visiting nearby cultural centres and in the process, discover the artist’s work and process. They will then create wearable headpieces and costumes inspired by their local area. The final session will be a live art performance event held as part of Leitrim Cycling Festival in Kiltyclogher .
The festival aims to develop an appreciation of the local area and its natural environment through the provision of an engaging, accessible programme of activities. Working with the local community and local artists enabling greater integration is key to the success of the festival. Celina Muldoon's performative art practice is the perfect fit to add a new creative element to the Leitrim Cycling Festival 2020.
