Flourish

Midleton Arts Festival 2024 - ‘Flourish’, is a celebration of public art, connection and education through environmental arts, performance and music.

Join us for a powerful pre-festival event from Noggin Theatre, Wed 22nd and Thurs 23rd May, with the critically acclaimed production of ‘Violet Gibson - The Woman Who Shot
Mussolini’, performed by Alice Barry at My Place Community Centre, Midleton. The festival launches on Friday 24th May at My Place, with ‘Variables IV’ fine art exhibition
curated by Danny McCarthy, featuring 3 local professional artists; Janet Turra, Susan Herlihy and Niall McCarthy, with music and light refreshments to enjoy.

Saturday's Farmers Market will feature the Climate Aware Midleton group, in conjunction with artists to present stalls and interactive events based on climate awareness and
connection to nature. Music throughout, from the fabulous Cork Light Orchestra. Explore a host of other creative, fun and educational events; a clay workshop, poetry
competition, literary readings, free family film screenings at The Gate, a sound installation, sound bath, drumming circle, family workshops, performances, a street gallery and the huge
Midleton Art Market on Sunday with an original music stage.

The festivities conclude with a joyful and entertaining evening of music from Stan Notte and Eoin Jordan at ‘An Seomra’, in Wallis’ Bar, Sunday evening 26th May. In its 11th year, this
festival knows how to throw a party and celebrate East Cork’s flourishing artists.
