Floating Voices-Intergenerational Arts Programme
Street Art Ink presents FLOATING VOICES: Intergenerational Arts Program which sees older and younger age groups collaborating together to design and develop a series of maritime themed artwork under the guidance of our experienced artists.
The second artwork of the Intergenerational Arts Program series and funded here starts with the delivery of a facilitated workshop with local young and elderly participants, who will be guided by an artist to design, develop and create a piece of large scale mural art, reflecting Waterford rich maritime heritage
This intergenerational arts program is one of three strands of the national FLOATING VOICES project. The first strand is a maritime walking tour & an audio-visual trail with QR codes in multiple locations across Waterford. The second strand is the intergenerational programme and each artwork will have a QR code where the public can view interviews and further information about this arts programme. The third strand is the mobile open-air floating museum that acts as an Artist in Residency, where artists and scientists reside on a repurposed barge and work with communities living near Irish waterways to create public artworks around themes of Climate Change and the Biodiversity of Ireland’s waterways.
Visit the Street Arts Inc website for more information and updates on the project.
