Filmmaking in The Community

This exciting programme is designed to offer a holistic filmmaking education that addresses both technical skills and the nuanced approach needed when working with actors, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), fostering an environment of creativity and collaboration.

The initiative targets the engagement and skill-development of up to 20 young individuals diagnosed with ASD, offering them an intensive one-week program focused on crafting a short film from inception to final cut. This project is multifaceted, aiming to cultivate not only the filmmaking capabilities of the participants but also to significantly enhance their abilities in communication, teamwork, and various technical disciplines essential in the digital age.

The project will conclude with a communal event designed to celebrate the accomplishments of the young filmmakers. This will allow parents, relatives, and the wider community to appreciate the works created, with an exciting opportunity to broadcast these films on the exterior of the Mountview Family Resource Centre, making it visible to a broader audience.

Date of communal screening event to be confirmed.
