Engine Shorts
Engine Shorts is an initiative run by Film in Limerick, Clare Arts Office, Limerick Culture and Arts Office and Tipperary Arts Office in conjunction with Limerick Clare Education and Training Board.
It provides for mentoring, training and professional development of emerging film makers in the Mid West Region by shortlisting candidates from each county who then are supported to develop their film ideas and pitch to industry professionals.
The successful candidates then receive ongoing mentoring and production assistance, including financial assistance, to bring their projects to fruition by developing high quality short films. These films are shot on location in each county, using local crew, cast and locations, and generating huge interest in local communities.
The scheme aims to be build on fresh local talent and to encourage film makers to look to and to stay in the Mid West, so as to develop an industry talent pool.
