Cuppa Culture - South Tipp Arts Centre Podcast
A podcast series was planned for 2020 focusing on creative professionals working in Tipperary. The arrival of the pandemic and ensuing lockdown leading to the cancellation of so much arts programming prompted a rethink of the format and 'Cuppa Culture' came about. The format became more conversational and the podcasts were shortened to 15-20 minute conversations with a wide range of creatives working both nationally and internationally who each bring to the table a different perspective and experience of the result of lockdown in their lives and work.
These podcasts feature people from visual arts, theatre, literature, opera, community arts as well as covering topical affairs like the work of NCFA and the VAI, whose insights and advice would have been very helpful to those struggling at the time. The series ran to 13 episodes and was co presented by Eimear King and Helena Tobin. Once the lockdown was over the normal Podcast series was reinstated in its original format. One of the Creative Ireland elements had been Podcasting workshops which of course had to be reimagined due to the new working models. Three schools in Clonmel will participate in 6 workshops by end of November.
