Creativity in Business - High Performance Building Alliance, Wexford
The High Performance Building Alliance (HPBA) is an Irish Government and UN approved Centre of Excellence, dedicated to addressing climate change through industry informed research and upskilling. In 2024/25 HPBA will operate from the Green Hub in Senan House, Enniscorthy Technology Park, offering a shared working environment for startups, freelancers, and small businesses focused on green technologies and sustainable practices.
To coincide with the HPBA’s new fit-out at the Green Hub, Creative Ireland Wexford will invest in a year-long artist-in-residence programme across 2025. The artist will work with the businesses that occupy the HPBA’s new space, finding creative solutions to collective issues. To shape the residency, a workshop will take place in autumn 2024 between the HPBA businesses, Wexford’s LEO, and selection of eight artists and producers from various disciplines working in the field of climate change and sustainability. Case studies of national and international successful artist-in-residencies in business environments will be examined, and speakers will be invited to share their relevant experiences.
This approach will enable the businesses to feel ownership of the residency from the beginning, and demonstrate the value that art and creative responses can have to business. The artists and producers invited to this workshop will give scope as to what might be possible, and help to address the strategic aims of all stakeholders.
