Tinteán is a housing association in Waterford that provides support to women and families who present as homeless. It was one of the first organisations to experience poet Colm Keegan's now iconic Writing Home project. Service users reported huge benefits from this project, the process of which was recently made into a documentary.

We initiated conversation with Colm Keegan about how to sustain this programme so that new service users can also benefit on an ongoing basis. Colm identified one former participant who showed great aptitude and talent in the original programme and suggested that we reconnect with her and offer a capacity building programme to enable her to be a creative writing facilitator.

Colm and this former participant will co-facilitate a six week creative writing course with current Tinteán service users, and complete a number of one-to-one mentorship sessions together. After the programme, Tinteán will have an in-house creative writing facilitator with lived experience of the service.
