It is proposed to engage with local primary school/ schools to develop a piece of artwork for a planned new playground in Termonfeckin, Co Louth. The children attending local primary school range from 4 – 12 years old and engagement with the school principals will determine which classes will participate in the proposal.

The project proposes to include for an artist to facilitate several workshops with school children from local schools exploring the themes of environment, history, sustainability and a sense of place, in addition to suggestions from the children that may emerge during the workshops. 

Following 6 workshops, the artist will create a piece of artwork based on input from the children. The form of the artwork will develop from the feedback/ discussions at the workshops.

The proposal includes for documenting the creation of a new community playground. This will include documenting the production of the artwork. This can be in form of photographs or video format. All child protection and parental/ guardian permission will be adhered to.
