Chapbook: CLOUDS
In 2023, debut poet and translator Jordan McCarthy participated in the Cork City Library Eco-Poet in Residence series, focusing on poetry in translation. McCarthy's work on translating contemporary German poet Klaus Anders, whose poetry had never been translated into English, has been recognised for its international significance. The resulting chapbook, CLOUDS, marks the culmination of this two-year project and will be launched at the Cork World Book Festival in April 2025. Following the launch, McCarthy will embark on a nationwide tour to promote the chapbook, which also serves as a precursor to a full collection by a recognised publisher.
At the heart of this project is a commitment to engaging young creatives, embracing international and linguistic diversity, and connecting with the public. The design and publication will be made by local Cork printers Badly Made Books, all of whose paper is sourced from FSC certified forests, whose packaging is made with recycled material, and who thus honour the sustainable ethos of this project.
