Castlebar Comic Festival will be an exciting fortnight of events starting at the end of September which will engage children, young people and adults and make creativity accessible to them through the medium of books, comics, graphic novels, technology, history and art.  There will be a wide range of workshops from different local and national facilitators running throughout the fortnight to allow the community to harness their imagination and creativity with one full day of activities, displays of work and workshops for members of the local community taking place in the middle of the programme as part of the events. 

Workshops will include creation of your own comics for children, young people and adults facilitated by local Mayo based artists to further the links already forged by Creative Ireland within the community.  Digital creativity will also be explored through workshops provided in partnership with the local Foróige Hub Digital Programmes initiative.  This will give participants an opportunity to experience virtual reality, art coming to life through technology, along with coding and lego-based workshops. 

These events will be free and advertised widely throughout the community including schools and local community groups to ensure that as wide a population as possible is reached.
